Kim thì cải nhậm Nam Bình,
Chàng Vương cũng cải nhậm thành Châu Dương,
Sắm sanh xe ngựa vội vàng,
Hai nhà cùng thuận một đường phó quan,
Xảy nghe thế giặc đã tan,
Sóng êm Phúc Kiến lửa tàn Chiết Giang,
Được tin Kim mới rủ Vương,
Tiện đường cùng lại tìm nàng sau xưa.

Hàng Châu đến đó bây giờ,
Thật tin hỏi được tóc tơ rành rành,
Rằng ngày hôm nọ giao binh,
Thất cơ Từ đã thu linh trận tiền,
Nàng Kiều công cả chẳng đền,
Lệnh quan lại bắt ép duyên thổ tù,
Nàng đà gieo ngọc trầm châu,
Sông Tiền Đường đó ấy mồ hồng nhan,
Thương ôi không hợp mà tan,
Một nhà vinh hiển riêng oan một nàng.

Chiêu hồn thiết vị lễ thường,
Giãi oan lập một đàn tràng bên sông,
Ngọn triều non bạc trùng trùng,
Vời trông còn tưởng cành hồng lúc gieo,
Tình thâm biển thẳm lạ điều,
Nào hồn tinh vệ biết theo chốn nào,
Cơ duyên đâu bỗng lạ sao ?
Giác Duyên đâu bỗng tìm vào đến nơi,
Trông lên linh vị chữ bài,
Thất kinh mới hỏi những người đâu ta ?

Với nàng thân thích gần xa,
Người còn sao bỗng làm ma khóc người,
Nghe tin ngơ ngác rụng rời,
Xúm quanh kể lể rộn rời hỏi tra,
Nầy chồng nầy mẹ nầy cha,
Nầy là em ruột nầy là em dâu,
Thật tin nghe đã bấy lâu,
Pháp sư dạy thế sự đâu lạ thường,
Sư rằng nhân quả với nàng,
Lâm Tri buổi trước Tiền Đường buổi sau.

Khi nàng gieo ngọc trầm châu,
Đón nhau tôi đã gặp nhau rước về,
Cùng nhau nương cửa Bồ đề,
Thảo am đó cũng gần kề chẳng xa,
Phật tiền ngày bạc lân la,
Đăm đăm nàng cũng nhớ nhà khôn khuây,
Nghe tin nở mặt nở mày,
Mừng nào lại quá mừng nầy nữa chăng ?
Từ phen chiếc lá lìa rừng,
Thâm tình luống những liệu chừng nước mây,
Chú giải :
Cải nhậm = đổi đi làm nơi khác,
Đàn tràng = làm lễ giải oan,
Cửa Bồ đề = cửa Phật,
Thảo am = Chùa lợp tranh.

Kim fut envoyé à Nam Binh. Le jeune Vuong lui aussi fut désigné pour servir à Phu Duong.
Ils s’empressèrent de faire préparer chevaux et voitures.
Ils se trouvaient devoir suivre ensemble la même route pour rejoindre leurs nouveaux postes.
Sur ces entrefaites, ils apprirent que les troubles qui avaient régné avaient pris fin.
Le calme était revenu dans le Phuc Kien et l’incendie était éteint dans le Tich Giang.
A cette nouvelle Kim proposa à Vuong. De profiter du voyage dans la même région pour essayer de retrouver Kieu et de savoir tout ce qui lui était arrivé.
Ils arrivèrent à Hang Châu. Et eurent des nouvelles authentiques les plus détaillées.
On leur dit : Ces jours derniers, un combat fut livré. Pris à un piège. Tu Hai est mort sur le champ de bataille. La dame Kieu ne fut pas récompensée du grand service qu’elle avait rendu à l’Etat.
Et un ordre du haut commandant des armées l’a contrainte à devenir l’épouse d’un chef indigène.
Elle s’est jetée à l’eau. Et le fleuve Tiên Duong que voilà est le tombeau de cette beauté.
Hélas, au lieu de l’union qu’ils cherchaient, c’était la séparation éternelle.
Toute la famille connut le bonheur et la considération à elle seule avait été réservée la mort injuste. Pour invoquer ses mânes, ils firent exposer la tablette de culte suivant le rite ordinaire.
Pour le repos de son âme, ils firent installer un autel en plein air sur la berge du fleuve.
Les flots de la marée montante comme de minuscules montagnes aux sommets argentés, se succédaient à perte de vue.
En regardant dans le lointain, ils croyaient voir encore sa belle silhouette au moment où elle s’était envolée de la barque pour tomber dans l’abîme.
Curieux phénomène des liens profonds du sang dans les moments de grand malheur.
Qui sait si son âme ne s’est pas incarnée dans l’oiseau Tinh Vê et qui est allée ensuite on ne sait où ? Survint alors un événement combien étrange. La bonzesse Giac Duyên guidée on ne sait par quoi, apparut.
En regardant sur la tablette sacrée placée au haut de l’autel, elle y lut l’inscription.
Stupéfaite, elle demanda : Mais quelles sont ces personnes qui viennent dans nos parages ?
Vous êtes donc des parents proches ou éloignés ?
Elle est encore en vie pourquoi célébrez-vous ses funérailles et pourquoi la pleurez vous aussi comme une morte ? A cette nouvelle, ils furent stupéfaits d’étonnement.
Tous firent cercle autour de la religieuse pour lui dire quels liens de parenté ils avaient avec Kieu puis ils l’assaillirent de questions. Voici son époux, voici sa mère, voici son père. Voici son propre frère et voici sa belle sœur. Nous avons eu depuis si longtemps tant de certitude sur sa mort.
Et vous venez nous apprendre qu’elle vit toujours.
Quelle nouvelle extraordinaire ? La bonzesse dit : Je suis en relations avec elles depuis l’origine de ses malheurs jusqu’à leurs conséquences. Je l’avais d’abord connue à Lâm Tri puis je l’ai retrouvée dans le Tiên Duong. Quand elle s’est jetée à l’eau. J’étais là à la guetter, je la retrouvai et je la ramenai chez moi. Toutes deux nous vivons ensemble sous la protection de Bouddha.
La chaumière qui nous sert de temple est là tout à côté.
Devant Bouddha nous coulons ainsi de doux jours sans incident.
Mais obstinément, elle pense toujours à sa famille lointaine dont il serait difficile de la distraire.
A entendre cette révélation, ils se sentirent épanouis.
Quelle joie pouvait dépasser celle qu’ils éprouvaient alors.
Depuis que la pauvre feuille s’était séparée de la forêt.
On l’avait toujours recherchée au hasard parmi les vastes étendues d’eau et les nuages disséminés dans les quatre coins du ciel.

2949 - To Nam Binh as a governor, Kim was transferred.
And to assume a new position in Phu Duong city, Vuong was ordered.
Preparations were made in a hurry, horses and wagons were soon ready.
The two families travelling in the same direction, departed immediately.
They learned that the rebellion had been shattered.
War fire in Chiet Giang was doused and the fighting in Phuc Kien was over.
Kim and Vuong, taking advantage of the newly restored peace and order.
Agreed that they would, during the trip, resume the search for her.
2957 - When they arrived at Hang Chau, they could gather.
The latest news in precise details about Kim’s lover.
The battle, they were told, had taken place not long ago.
Falling into an ambush, Tu had died as a hero.
Kieu received no award for the great service rendered.
Instead, she had been forced to marry a tribe chief by Ho, the governor.
So, she destroyed her body of jade by jumping into the flowing water.
The Tien Duong River thus became the grave of a great lover.

A miraculous coincidence occurred, seemingly by Heaven decided.
On that day, Bonzess Giac Duyen happened to pass by.
And Kieu’s name on the commemorative tablet met her sight.
But who are you, ladies and gentlemen ? asked she, mystified.
2977 - How are you related to her ? Could you please, tell me ?
She is still alive ! Why this mass of requiem for a living lady ?
Those questions dumbfounded all the family.
They asked questions and introduced themselves to the bonzess immediately.
This is her husband, this her father and this her mother.
This is her sister-in-law, this her sister and this her brother.
We learned about her death from good source and now your reverend.
To the contrary, is telling us that she still is in this existence.
The bonzess replied, because of karma affinity.
I met her on this river after seeing her in Lam Tri.
2987 - When her body of jade was drowned in the river.
I was already waiting and found her, then took her to my shelter.
We have been living since in the house of Buddha.
Which is quite near here, not very far.
At the feet of Buddha we spent days of peace and leisure.
But she misses you all so much that nothing can mollify her dolour.
Upon this accurate good news, all faces with joy were lighted.
No delectation could surpass their delight at this time.
Since the leaf had been torn away from the timberland.
They had been looking for her, scouring waters and lands by chance.
