Khi xem hoa nở khi chờ trăng lên,
Ba sinh đã phỉ mười nguyền,
Duyên đôi lứa cũng là duyên bạn bầy,
Nhớ lời lập một am mây,
Khiến người thân thích rước thầy Giác Duyên,
Đến nơi đóng cửa cài then,
Rêu trùm kẽ ngạch cỏ len mái nhà,
Sư đà hái thuốc phương xa,
Mây bay hạc lánh biết là tìm đâu ?

Nặng vì chút nghĩa xưa sau,
Trên am cứ giữ hương dầu hôm mai,
Một nhà phúc lộc gồm hai,
Ngàn năm dằng dặc quan giai lần lần,
Thừa gia chẳng hết nàng Vân,
Một cây cù mộc một sân quế hòe,
Phong lưu phú quý ai bì,
Vườn xuân một cửa để bia muôn đời,
Ngẫm hay muôn sự tại trời,
Trời kia đã bắt làm người có thân.

Bắt phong trần phải phong trần,
Cho thanh cao mới được phần thanh cao,
Có đâu thiên vị người nào,
Chữ Tài chữ Mệnh dồi dào cả hai,
Có Tài mà cậy chi Tài ?
Chữ Tài liền với chữ Tai một vần,
Đã mang lấy nghiệp vào thân,
Cũng đừng trách lẫn trời gần trời xa,
Thiện căn ở tại lòng ta,
Chữ Tâm kia mới bằng ba chữ Tài.
Lời quê chắp nhật dông dài,
Mua vui cũng được một vài trống canh.
Chú giải :
Quan giai = cấp bậc quan lại,
Thừa gia = đảm đương việc nhà,
Cù mộc = người vợ cả,
Quế hòe = có đông con cháu hiển đạt.

Tantôt ils regardèrent s’ouvrir les fleurs tantôt ils jouirent ensemble du spectacle du lever de la lune.
Tous les vœux qu’ils avaient faits depuis longtemps étaient de la sorte exaucés.
La vie en commun des époux est après tout la vie en commun d’une paire d’amis.
Comme cela avait été convenu, ils firent bâtir un temple dans un coin bien isolé.
Et envoyèrent une personne de confiance auprès de la religieuse Giac Duyên pour la prier de venir.
Cette personne envoyée en arrivant sur les lieux trouva les portes fermées et les verrous tirés.
Les bas des murs était couvert de mousse, l’herbe montait jusqu’au toit de la maison.
La bonzesse était allée herboriser dans des régions lointaines.
Où chercher le nuage qui s’est envolé et l’oiseau qui s’est enfui ?
En souvenir de cette longue amitié.
Elle se voua à l’entretien du feu et de l’encens dans le temple.
Depuis lors, le bonheur et la richesse régnèrent dans la famille.
Les années s’écoulèrent heureuses : le mandarin monta peu à peu en grade.
Madame Vân avait assez à s’occuper avec le ménage.
L’arbre familial grandit et vieillit faisant de nombreux rejetons.
Elégance, aisance, richesse, honneurs, ils jouirent de tout cela comme personne n’en a jamais joui.
Et cette maison où la joie et le bonheur ont régné a laissé son souvenir aux dix mille générations à venir.
Elle est bonne à méditer cette grande vérité : tout vient du Ciel.
Le Ciel en nous condamnant à vivre en hommes, nous assigne à chacun un sort.
S’il nous a voués à une vie d’aventures, il nous faut accepter la vie d’aventures.
C’est seulement lorsqu’il a voulu nous faire honorable et grands que nous pouvons être honorables et grands.
Il ne se montre partial vis- à-vis de quiconque.
Talent, Destinée, ce sont deux grandes choses.
Quand vous êtes doué de talent, ne vous fiez pas trop à votre talent.
Tai talent ne rime-t-il pas avec Tai, malheur ?
Chacun de nous porte avec soi son karma.
Il ne faut jamais se plaindre que le Ciel est trop près ou trop loin.
Le bien à sa racine dans notre cœur.
Le « Cœur » à lui tout seul vaut trois fois plus que le « Talent ».
Ces propos vulgaires je les ai pris un peu partout par ci par là pour en faire ce recueil sans prétention.
Ils vous procureront toujours quelque distraction pendant quelques veilles.

Sometimes, they spent hours emptying cups of wine, occasionally playing chess, sometimes contemplating blooming flowers or sitting side by side enjoying the beautiful scene of the moonrise. Now both of them had performed all the ten vows made since three existences ago. They were thus tied to each other, not only by a link of marriage but also by a link of friendship.
Remembering their promises they had a temple built in a well isolated corner. Then they sent a trusty messenger to Superior Giac-Duyên so as to invite her to come and live with them. But upon arriving at the spot the messenger found the doors closed and bolted. Moss had covered the chinks of the walls and grass had grown as high as the roof of the temple. The bonzes had gone to a very forlorn region to gather medicinal herbs and plants. Where could one find a traveling cloud or a wandering crane?
In memory of the long friendship between her and the religious woman, morning and night, Kiêu devoted herself to the care of incense and oil in the temple.
Ever since then, the family was laden with riches and happiness. Happy years seemed to come to them endlessly and Kim had many times obtained higher official grades. Thuy-Vân entirely devoted herself to the care of the home, like a bent tree surrounded with many esophorias and cinnamon-trees. Very few persons could equal them in sufficiency, opulence and honors. And the memories of this family where reigned gaiety and happiness would remain immortal for ten thousand ages.
Let’s meditate and we shall comprehend that everything does come from Heaven for Heaven has condemned men to live and sealed their fate. If we are condemned to live a life full of adventures, we must accept it. If we are granted a pure and noble life, we shall be pure and noble. Heaven is partial to no one. Genius and destiny would be too much if they went along with each other. When you are endowed with a talent, don’t rely too much on it, for the word “Tài” which means talent, rhymes with the word “Tai” which means calamity.
Since each of us a burden to carry, let’s carry it and not accuse Heaven of what might happen to us. The principle of good come our souls and a good heart is much worthier than all the talents.
